Online nonprofit Western Governors University (WGU) has announced that Anthony “AJ” Jackson has been named as a strategic partnerships manager. In this role, Jackson will help develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with employers and related organizations throughout North Carolina and South Carolina.

A resident of Charlotte, Jackson has extensive experience in business, recruitment and workforce development. His work history includes serving as a university development counselor with Grand Canyon University and territory director, workforce solutions for the University of Phoenix. He was also a licensed real estate broker in the Carolinas and vice president and account executive for MTV Networks in New York City.

Jackson earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from North Carolina A&T and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. He is happily married, a father of three boys, owner of a three-year-old rottweiler, and a big fan of New York’s pro teams, including the Knicks, Yankees, Giants, Rangers and Liberty. Jackson is also a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity.
