15th Annual Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Foundation Luncheon


Charlotte, NC (February 10, 2025) — Lt. General Ken Tovo, US Army Retired will headline the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Foundation Spring Luncheon at noon on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at the Charlotte Convention Center. The fundraising luncheon benefits initiatives for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department to reduce crime and enhance officer safety.

Over the course of his 35-year career, primarily as a Green Beret, LTG Tovo developed and led high-performing organizations at varying levels, from a 12-man Special Forces ‘A-team’ to the 34,000-strong Army Special Operations Command. His operational assignments include the first Gulf War, refugee relief operations in Turkey and Northern Iraq, noncombatant evacuation operations in Sierra Leone, peacekeeping operations in Bosnia on two occasions, five tours in Iraq, and one tour in Afghanistan.

Ken has significant experience in developing organizational culture, managing change and incorporating new ideas and technology, and strategic planning and resourcing.

In addition to his consulting work, Ken currently serves on the board of several defense-related companies and is the chairman of the Green Beret Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting current and former US Army Green Berets and their families.

Ken is a distinguished graduate from the US Military Academy at West Point and earned a BS in Aerospace Engineering. He holds a MS in Advanced Military Studies from the US Army Command & General Staff College and a MS in Strategic Studies from the US Army War College. Ken and his wife of 39 years, Suzanne, live in Pinehurst, NC. `


The annual luncheon, with over 1700 attendees is the Police Foundation’s only fundraiser and is made possible in large part due to the generosity of its’ presenting sponsors: The Ken and Beth Beuley Family Foundation, Coca Cola Bottling Consolidated, CPI Security, The Sherrill Family Foundation and SteelFab, Inc.
