Job Summary

The Account Sales Manager, specializing in the religious multicultural market, works to deliver profitable conference and convention center business throughout the greater Charlotte area delivers economic impact to the CRVA and the hospitality industry creating jobs and opportunities for all in the region.

Job Responsibilities


  • Essential Job Duties

Develop business for the meetings and events industry for the city of Charlotte.

Management of robust sales funnel with a primary booking lead time of 18 months or sooner.

Partner with National Sales counterpart and the convention center/venue sales teams on in market sales activations.

Outbound prospect efforts through account research using, MINT, LinkedIn, SimpleView and other industry platforms.

Travel across the market for sales missions (trade shows, sales outings/calls, etc.) to solicit business for the destination:

Planning tradeshow and customer events.

Execute said events

Collaborate with marketing on integration of brand messaging and strategy

Budget management

Post-event follow-up with clients


Develop and maintain engagement with market-appropriate business event industry associations and membership organizations.

Maintains sales accounts in Visit Charlotte’s CRM (SimpleView).

Solicit organizations and process inquiries to attain all established measurable goals.

Prepare, organize, and implement sales related site visits

Develop agenda specific to client needs

Schedule with partners appropriate to client needs

Arrange for inbound and on the ground transportation

Guide customer during site visit addressing client needs as well as hotel and venue needs.

Post site visit follow-up with customer and participating partners until new business is confirmed

  • Create comprehensive proposals and sales presentations in collaboration with hotel and industry partners
  • Present to meeting planners, and members of leadership teams both virtually and in person.

Collaboration with team members to achieve team and sub-team goals and support customer as well as local industry needs.

Collaboration across all branches of the CRVA to provide excellent customer service and develop brand awareness.

Includes venues, Charlotte Convention Center, BoPlex, NASCAR Hall of Fame and Spectrum as well as other Charlotte venues to get proposal information (dates and pricing) along with supporting customer during the contract process.

Work closely with hotel and industry partners to gather proposal information and support the sales process.

Manager will frequently be required to follow up with hotels and industry partners to gather lead responses including:

Adherence to RFP requirements

Rate information

Appropriate room block

Participation in mediation with hotels and venues during contracting process

Scope of Responsibility


This job will have periodic access to confidential data including company records and/or minutes, customer quotes, product costs, and company plans, designs, and/or programs.

This job is responsible for budgetary analysis, preparation, and review assistance.



Supervisory Responsibility

 

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

 

Creates and maintains strong partnerships with CRVA partners.

Always maintain professional demeanor.

  • Have the ability to analyze market trends and collaborate with hotel and industry partners to identify revenue opportunities.
  • Identify need periods with hotels
  • Determine the potential use of Business Development Funding to secure business where it is needed most
  • This role requires deep knowledge of the hospitality industry, customer needs, and competitive positioning to foster successful partnerships and achieve sales objectives.
  • Represent the CRVA in advocacy efforts in the hospitality industry
  • Hotel and venue site inspections/tours
  • Partner events
  • Local industry community events
  • A well-rounded understanding of competitive destinations, including hotels, airports, facilities, and venues, is essential.

 

 

Education and Experience

 

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; and two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.


Physical Demands

 

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license to transport clients for onsite inspections or trade shows and /or conferences.
