James Jeter | Skyla Credit Union



James Jeter is the AVP of Community Development at Skyla Credit Union, where he leads business development and community engagement strategies. With over 10 years of experience in community development, James is passionate about fostering collaboration and creating impactful solutions.

Before joining Skyla, he played a key role in planning and implementing collective impact initiatives at the United Way of York County, SC. His leadership was essential in achieving the organization’s mission and strategic goals, effectively addressing critical community needs.

At Skyla, James focuses on expanding financial wellness through strategic partnerships and educational initiatives. He drives member acquisition and engagement by conducting financial wellness presentations and providing training for retail employees to ensure seamless member experience.

James is actively involved in the community as a board member of the York County Regional Chamber of Commerce and serves as the board Chair of Habitat for Humanity York County. His leadership consistently aligns organizational strategies with community needs to drive meaningful change.

Edwin B Peacock III | Pomfret Financial


Edwin B. Peacock III is an esteemed community leader and seasoned financial services entrepreneur with deep roots in the Charlotte region. Recognized for his high integrity and commitment to serving others, Edwin has built a 20+ year career dedicated to supporting high-net-worth individuals and families through strategic financial guidance. As the President of The Pomfret Financial Company, Inc., a family-owned firm, Edwin specializes in crafting tailored insurance and business planning solutions for affluent families, business owners, and not-for-profit organizations. His expertise spans executive benefit program design, life and health insurance, and long-term care planning and his credentials include the prestigious Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) certifications from The American College.

Edwin, a respected and inclusive leader, is also known for his civic contributions. As President-Elect of the Rotary Club of Charlotte and a Trustee of the North Carolina Arts Council and Blumenthal Performing Arts, he champions arts, education, and economic mobility across the region. His board involvement extends to the Seymour Family Foundation and Johnson C. Smith University, where he contributes to advancing the community through strategic initiatives and financial stewardship. Edwin’s steadfast commitment to service also led him to serve as a co-chair for the COVID-19 Response Fund, organized by the Foundation for the Carolinas and United Way.

Edwin’s dedication to the Charlotte community is matched by his political experience. As a former elected official and City Council Member At-Large, he advocated environmental sustainability. He represented the Republican Party as a mayoral candidate in 2013 and 2015, earning endorsements from The Charlotte Observer in both races. This experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of the regional political and cultural landscape, enhancing his ability to connect with and serve diverse constituencies.

Marcellus "MT" Turner | Charlotte Mecklenburg Library

Marcellus Turner, better known as MT, is passionate about libraries as both institutions and welcoming spaces for community dialogue, support, and exploration. He has enjoyed a storied career of more than 30 years as a leader in academic and public libraries across the country. MT boasts that he started working in libraries in the 4th grade and has been hooked ever since. Before joining Charlotte Mecklenburg Library in 2021, he was the CEO of The Seattle Public Library. MT earned his master’s degree in library science from the University of Tennessee and a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi University for Women.

 MT’s professional passions include working to make libraries more socially conscious, ensuring they operate as 21st century organizations, planning for the future of libraries, and using libraries as community venues for cultural and civic engagement and discourse. In his spare time, MT enjoys listening to a good audiobook, traveling, eating great food, and women’s basketball.

Kevin A Markle | Mental Health America of Central Carolinas Charlotte NC


Kevin Markle is the Director of Education and Advocacy at Mental Health America of Central Carolinas. He holds degrees in Psychology and Child and Adolescent Psychology and is a consultant on crisis prevention, conflict management, and de-escalation for numerous organizations. He has dedicated 23+ years of experience in supporting adults and youth in overcoming personal struggles with their mental health and champions efforts for access to resources for everyone. Currently, he works with community partners and individuals to provide educational opportunities through a group of instructors through Mental Health America of Central Carolinas. Kevin is a QPR Master Suicide prevention trainer, a lead instructor in Mental Health First Aid curricula, and a certified NCI trainer with the Crisis Prevention Institute.
