We are thrilled to announce that Molly Barker will be our keynote speaker for the 3rd Annual Charlotte Area Chamber of Commerce Women In Business Conference on September 26, 2024, at the Harris Business Conference Center!

Molly Barker, Founder of Girls on the Run

Embrace the Dragonfly: Molly will be speaking about the focus on her journey with Girls on the Run plus some profoundly wise, irreverently funny, and awe-inspiring life lessons she has learned from working with kids, that you can take “on the run” as passionate women in business. Get ready to engage and answer thought-provoking questions that will leave you feeling inspired, joyful, and empowered.

Molly's Bio: 

Molly Barker is an American educator, social entrepreneur, and visionary. She holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is best known as the founder of Girls on the Run International. She founded the running 'Life Skills' development program in 1996 with 13 girls in Charlotte, NC. A four-time Hawaii Ironman triathlete and elite cyclist (Olympic Trials qualifier in 1996) Molly used her background in social work, counseling, and teaching to develop the curriculum. Since then, the program has inspired over 2.25 million girls nationwide to know and activate their limitless potential.

Tara's Bio:

With over 20 years of proven HR expertise, Tara is currently an HR Advisor with Catapult. She excels in employee relations, recruiting, and strategic HR initiatives. A dynamic networker, she is passionate about connecting people and resources to drive success. Confident and collaborative, she thrives in diverse settings, blending autonomy with teamwork to achieve results. She is an active member of the Union County Chamber where she serves as the Chair if the Ambassador Program and is also on the Board at Common Heart and Union Diversified Industries. In addition to connecting and supporting her community through her various roles, Tara also enjoys spending quality time with her family.
