Join us for a Communications Series: Cross Cultural Communications with Lauren Rogers from International House at The Refinery.
This communication series is an introductory session on cultural sensitivity and working with English language learners, where we'll explore essential considerations and communication strategies for interacting with immigrant and refugee newcomers. In this hour-long session, participants will gain insights into navigating diverse cultural backgrounds and effectively engaging with English language learners in various contexts.

Lauren Rogers Bio:
Lauren Rogers was born and raised in Gastonia, NC but spent the 10 years living in Wilmington, NC. She holds two B.As in International Studies and Communication Studies from UNCW. She'll also be graduating in May from NC State University with a M.Ed. in Adult and Continuing Professional Education. She has spent her career in refugee resettlement, English as a Second Language instruction, and volunteer management for nonprofits providing newcomer support services.
