Description
Do you struggle with how to bring your strategy to life, what step your organization needs to take next, what to do first, or just need some advice from others who have walked in your shoes? Welcome to the club - this group is designed for you and run by others in the same boat.
We know first-hand what it’s like have no idea on what to do or how to move the need forward. This group provides a safe and open forum to discuss your people, talent & culture challenges and crowdsource ideas and solutions. We want to get to know you and your goals, problems and plans and we’ll all brainstorm together by sharing knowledge, insights and best practices.
What You Will Get:
- Actionable ideas, tailored to your unique environment
- Names of others who can continue to brainstorm or crowdsource ideas
- An opportunity to share your expertise with others
- Names of others who can continue to brainstorm or crowdsource ideas
What We are Not:
- We are not a networking group. Yes, you will form connections with others, but it will be done by diving in and helping each other solution and action plan around their real-life problems.
- We are not selling products and services. You will not have others sell their services to you and it is not a group to sell your services to others.
- We are not a group just for HR, People & Culture, Talent Management or leaders. All are welcome to attend to either get advice or provide insights and counsel.
- We are not just going to have a conversation. These are working sessions, where all who attend will roll up their sleeves together and find practical, actionable ways forward.
This Quarter 2022 Description – Demystifying DEI: Moving from Strategy to Action:
There is increased focus and attention on how to further diversity, equity and inclusion within organizations. Organizations are committed to it, but what does that mean day to day? What is the next step to take or the next action to consider?
This quarter, we invite you to bring your challenges and questions to the group to explore and solution together. Let’s use the rest of 2022 to help each other create a plan for 2023. What’s your company’s new year’s resolutions? What do you commit to doing differently? And what will you stop?
Some things that we are hearing and are seeing (in our own companies and in others). Please bring yours and we will dive in and help you work it through.
- Employees and leaders don’t think they have experience or training in DEI…but they do. We all are part of the workforce and can provide a perspective on how to feel included and respected.
- How do I create an environment where people really feel comfortable being themselves? And what is the difference between “being professional” and “being yourself?”
- Our DEI strategy is so high level that I don’t know what to do to make a difference.
- Our DEI strategy is so complex that it feels overwhelming and impossible to achieve.
- We have DEI goals, but are they helping or hurting our intended efforts? Are we creating unintended consequences?
- Employees are asking to leave work to see their therapist and are being asked to take PTO. Since mental health is health, do we need to rethink our PTO policy and/or how can we support or employees?
- We need refreshed talent that thinks outside of the box. But are we truly ready, willing and able to embrace differing perspectives and diverse talent? If not, what do we need to do to get there?
- What are the leadership strategies of the past that we need to reconsider and/or retire?
