Jeffrey M.Campbell, Ph.D | Chair Associate Professor | Department of Retailing College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management | University of South Carolina

Jeffrey M. Campbell is the department chair and associate professor of retailing at the University of South Carolina. He serves on the Higher Education Advisory Board for the Category Management Association. Campbell earned his Ph.D. in retail, hospitality, and tourism from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a minor in marketing, following an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Arlington and a B.S. in business administration from Valparaiso University.

With 13 years of experience in the retail industry, Campbell has worked in department and specialty store formats, specializing in buying, merchandise planning, inventory management, store planning, warehousing, and loss prevention.

His research has been published in numerous retailing, marketing, hospitality, and small business journals, including Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management, and Journal of Small Business Strategy. He has presented at major conferences such as the AMA/ACRA Triennial Conference and the International Food Marketing Research Symposium.

Campbell has secured multiple grants, including a USDA Federal-State Marketing Improvement Program (FSMIP) Grant on Millennial consumers and state agricultural brands, a USC Provost Social Sciences Grant supporting small South Carolina farms, and funding for agro-tourism research in Honduras.

He serves on the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of International Food and Agribusiness Marketing, is a Board of Advisors Member for The Institute of Food Products Marketing, and reviews for multiple academic journals. He is an active member of AMA, ACRA, and the Lexington County SC Farm Bureau.
