Investing in Your Utility
We're committed (and obligated by regulators) to invest in older systems to bring them up to modern standards, and maintaining all systems in optimal operating condition through upgrade and replacement programs. To that end, Carolina Water Service of North Carolina has invested over $20 million in capital improvements since its last rate case.

Carolina Water Service Completes $8 Million in Upgrades at Fairfield Harbour Wastewater Treatment Plant

Charlotte, NC – September 4, 2026 – Carolina Water Service of North Carolina (CWSNC) recently completed approximately $8 million in upgrades at the Fairfield Harbour Wastewater Treatment Plant, enhancing the reliability and long-term performance of a critical community asset.
The project included upgrades to the wastewater treatment process, installation of new piping, pumps and blowers, improvements to monitoring and control systems, and reconditioning of treatment tanks. The improvements modernize key components of the facility while supporting continued environmental compliance and operational efficiency.
