Phil Lucey, Executive Director
Phil Lucey serves as the Executive Director of the North Carolina Press Association (NCPA), an organization representing newspapers across the state and supporting the public's right to know since 1873. In his role, Phil advocates for the vital role newspapers play in serving communities, upholding democracy, and driving local economies.
Before joining NCPA in 2016, Phil was the Executive Director of the New Mexico Press Association from 2010 to 2016 and served as the Advertising Director of the New England Newspaper Association from 2004 to 2010. His extensive experience in the newspaper industry has made him a prominent advocate for the enduring significance of newspapers in society. ncpafcu.org
Phil also holds leadership positions in various organizations, including serving as Board Vice-Chair of the North Carolina Press Association Federal Credit Union.
