Join us on October 16th for the Community Impact Summit, an exclusive opportunity to explore meaningful ways individuals can engage with local nonprofit organizations throughout various personal and professional development phases. This event will feature valuable insights from distinguished leaders within Charlotte’s nonprofit sector, representing organizations of varying missions, sizes, and budgets.

Gain valuable insights from prominent leaders within Charlotte’s nonprofit community on how to enhance your impact. These experts represent diverse organizations varying in size, mission, and scope, offering a wide range of perspectives. In addition to traditional volunteer opportunities, you will learn about strategic ways to give back, including board service, fundraising, and contributing time and financial resources.

Fifteen local nonprofits will also be present, providing a unique opportunity to engage directly with their teams, explore their missions, and discover how you can support their work. There will be dedicated networking sessions before and after the panel discussion, allowing you the flexibility to attend one session, both, or simply the panel itself.

We are thrilled to announce that Dianne Chase will be our Moderator for our 1st Annual Community Impact Summit with the Charlotte Area Chamber of Commerce Programs and Young Professional Committee on October 16, 2024, at the Goodwill Opportunity Center! 

Dianne Chase, Founder of Chase Media & Communications  

Dianne's Bio: 

Dianne is an award-winning communications executive with decades of experience working with a spectrum of enterprises from around the country and the world to elevate their success. Her passion lies in empowering professionals to enhance their communication prowess and cultivate their leadership skills to realize personal, professional, and organizational goals.

She is an Accredited GENIUS Business Storytelling Partner© in the Gabrielle Dolan methodology; one of only two in the world.

Dianne founded her boutique communications consulting, training, and media relations firm, Chase Media and Communications, in 2000 after a distinguished career in broadcast journalism as a news director, anchor, and reporter. In addition to strategic business storytelling, her expertise and services include crisis communication, cybersecurity communication, media training, presentation skills training, business message development, strategic internal and external communication, executive communication consulting and coaching, and leadership brand identity.

Dianne's leadership extends beyond her consultancy work. She is a past global chair of the International Association of Business Communicators and currently serves in as president of the IABC North Carolina chapter. She is a founding member of the 20/20 Visionaries in Charlotte and has been recognized with several professional awards including 2000 Notable American Women, and the Mecklenburg Times 50 Most Influential Women. She serves on several philanthropic and professional boards in her mission to always find ways to add value, provide support, and give back.


2024 Community Impact Summit: PANELISTS

Jonathan Ryan Gardner
Founder | Executive Director of GardHouse

Jonathan's Bio:

With several years of external and internal outreach experience, Jonathan has led engagement initiatives from the tech industry to the government sector. As ED of Charlotte’s first work-based organization that primarily focuses on college students of color, Jonathan developed paid internships within small businesses and nonprofits to demonstrate that they too can be economic drivers and training hubs for young talent. He launched GardHouse after finding that underserved college students were twice as likely to be unemployed than their counterparts for the last fifty years. Utilizing his outreach experience and Philadelphia upbringing as his foundation, Jonathan vowed to provide personalized experiences for students to excel in whatever field they choose. Since 2019, GardHouse has created over 180 opportunities in the community, which landed Jonathan Gardner on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2023.


LaToya Faustin
Executive Director of She Built This City (SBTC) 

LaToya's Bio:

LaToya Faustin is the transformative Executive Director of She Built This City (SBTC), known for her strategic acumen and influential leadership. Since assuming her role in 2020, LaToya has driven significant growth and steered the organization into a new era of community development. Her recognition in the Charlotte Business Journal's Power 100 for 2023 is a testament to her dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across Charlotte.

Armed with a BA in Corporate Communications and Spanish, an MBA from Elon University, and a DEI certification from Cornell University, LaToya's career is marked by her passion for advocacy and education. At SBTC, she has launched key initiatives, including Adult Workforce Development and Critical Home Repair, and extended the youth program through strategic partnerships with local government and community organizations.

Equally committed to community service beyond the scope of her work, LaToya serves on the Neighborhood Revitalization Committee for Habitat for Humanity Charlotte. She was a board member for the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance - Central Chapter and was involved in West End revitalization efforts with the City of Charlotte’s economic development team. She is currently a member of the Elon Alumni Board and previously served on the Young Alumni Council and is a 2023 Recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Service Award for her 20+ years of service in the nonprofit sector.

Trina Fullard
President | CEO of Charlotte Rescue Mission (CRM) 

Trina's Bio:

Trina was born and raised in Belle Vernon, a small suburb of Pittsburgh. She graduated from Washington & Jefferson College with a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1993 and earned her master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1995. She is credentialed with the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board as a licensed clinical addiction specialist and certified clinical supervisor. Currently, Trina is pursuing a doctorate in human services in leadership and organizational management, with a planned graduation in December 2026. She serves as the President/CEO of Charlotte Rescue Mission (CRM).

Over the years, Trina has been active in various community engagements and training initiatives, serving on several advisory committees and councils while providing training to numerous professional organizations. She completed the Lee Institute’s American Leadership Forum program in April 2023 as a member of Cohort XXI. Additionally, she serves on the faculty for the American Society of Addiction Medicine Fundamentals and is a member of the UNCC CATO College of Education Advisory Board.

Trina met her husband, Kevin, at W&J, and they are the proud parents of three young adults: Dewayne, Destiny, and Daelyn. Together, Trina and Kevin are sports enthusiasts who love adventures and traveling, and they enjoy hosting family and friends during holidays.


Melissa Hovey
Managing Director at SHARE Charlotte 

Melissa's Bio:

Melissa serves as the Managing Director at SHARE Charlotte, an innovative online platform dedicated to social good that connects the Charlotte community with over 700 local nonprofit organizations. As the leading resource for finding volunteer opportunities, SHARE Charlotte has facilitated more than $53 million in contributions to nonprofits. The platform has also expanded nationally, reaching six additional communities, with plans for more growth on the horizon.

Before her role at SHARE Charlotte, Melissa spent two decades at Dell Technologies in Austin, Texas, where she led Sales and Marketing teams. Her extensive experience in technology and marketing fuels her passion for harnessing the power of community to create impactful social initiatives. A dedicated community builder, she is committed to fostering a vibrant environment where neighbors support one another generously.
