Environmental Impact "Earth Week" Volunteer Event

Join us for a hands-on community service experience in partnership with Keep Charlotte Beautiful and Solid Waste Services! This dual-activity event includes a morning litter pick-up and sample sale setup to support sustainability and community engagement in Charlotte. This is an indoor and outdoor event, and Charlotte Area Chamber Members have the opportunity to serve side by side. 

Envision Charlotte, in partnership with Keep Charlotte Beautiful and City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services, utilizes local companies, organizations, and community groups to Clean Up the Queen City!


What are we doing?
This volunteer event has an indoor or outdoor opportunity. 10 volunteers are needed for the indoor opportunity to help with Envision Charlotte's Sample Sale set-up held at the Innovation Barn. The outdoor opportunity is litter pick up. All litter pick up groups will need to arrive early to have enough time to sign in, sign a waiver, and receive their gear from Keep Charlotte Beautiful.  At 10am, Solid Waste Services will gather everyone to give them a safety talk and assign each company a location in Charlotte and hand out maps of that specific location.  Groups will then carpool to that location to pick up litter for their shift and return to the Barn at the end of their shift to turn in their gear.  We will not have locations until the start of the shift, they are chosen by Solid Waste Services based on the needs they have for help that day, coordination with their teams that are out in the city, and how many people arrive from each company. There is no cutoff for the number of people who can help with litter pick up.
